Engaging the Power of Radiant

“Arise [from spiritual depression to a new life], shine [be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the Lord]; for your light has come, And the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you. – Isaiah 60:1AMP

Background: Isaiah 60 happens to be one of the passages written for the immediate benefit of the Jewish returnees from exile. They had returned and reclaimed their land through powerful leaders such as Ezra and Nehemiah but at best merely existed, barely living the life of splendor and prosperity God promised their forefathers. It was a time of hard struggle, hopelessness and reproach. Life has not been fair to them; their enemies kept increasing daily and they appeared powerless to do anything regarding their predicament. Yes, they were living on their land but captivity appeared a better option for them. In a few words, they were paralyzed by situations and circumstances they found themselves in; a people that were supposed to be a sign and a wonder to their world have now become an object of proverbs and by words to the people. They have been repressed and now are depressed. Yet in the midst of it all, God spoke. Now these words are being spoken directly to you and me.

To engage the power of radiant which is our theme for this women conference means to attract; to involve; to occupy the ability; the capability; the potential and the capacity that the light of God has to offer us. Light generally is very powerful because light is the source of life. John chapter one says Jesus is the light of God and that light is the life of men. Without light darkness will prevail and darkness is the fertile ground for every form of evil. No other light can rival the light or the radiance of God. Secondly, failure to walk in the light means get ready to stumble, fall and fail in all life’s endeavor and when a person is cast down, he becomes a rocking chair for every kind of demonic activities and manipulations. This weekend, get excited about and be expectant of God illumination by His word.

Isaiah 60:1 is an Exhortation and Instruction to that person:

  • Who is lying down prostrated and has been long in that position due to sins and negative habits of which he or she is now reaping the consequences. (Victim of SIN). Ps. 119:71; John 5:14; Gen. 16:3-11
  • Who is so beaten up and weighed down by circumstances of life most of which are beyond her control and ability and have given up hope of seeing better days (Victims of Bad Situations) Ruth 1:20; 4:13-17
  • Who knows deep within that she is more who she appears to be and not making headway in life in spite of all her efforts and struggles. (Victims of Self Reliance). John 4:9-30
  • Whose glory have been spiritually impacted and interfered with so much that she cannot beam forth (Victims of spiritual attacks and manipulations). Luke 13:10-16

The exhortation and Instruction is GET UP; RISE UP. It’s a New Day and a New Dawn. Reject that position of defeat, darkness and failure because:

  1. You have a God who is bigger and mightier than whosoever and whatever might have taken you to be a victim. Isaiah 40:26; 28; Jer. 32:17; 27
  2. You have a God who is called the King of Glory and who is magnanimous enough to share part of that glory with you. Ps. 24:7; Jer. 30:19
  3. You are chosen by this God to reflect His glory (His Radiance) on this earth- 1 Pet. 2:9
  4. He loves you too much to leave you in that defeated and darkened position. Zeph. 3:15-20; Micah 7:8

To Engage the Power of His Radiance:

  • Become Sensitive to whom God is; who you are in Him and His plans for your life. 1 Cor. 2:9-12; Job 4:5; Jer. 1:11-12; 29:11. You have to see it because until you see it, you cannot get it.
  • Become Decisive. Make up your mind to be who God created you to be; refuse to settle for what life dictates to you. 2 Tim. 1:7; 1 Cor. 15:10
  • Become Yielding to His Grace and His Power. You have not been created to shine in your personally conceived glory neither are you expected to. It is the Sun that gives light to the Moon. Ps. 36:9; John 8:12; Luke 1:38
  • Engage the Power of His Radiance by Worshipping Him more.- Ps. 34:5; Mal. 4:2

When you harness the power of radiant: Isaiah 60:4-22

  1. You will become more relevant
  2. Your destinies will be turn around for good
  3. Losses shall be recovered
  4. Your enemies will come bowing down before you
  5. Peace of God will rule and reign in your life
  6. Your territory shall be marvelously enlarged

Don’t permit the darkness of this world to dim the light of God that is expected to shine in you and through you. Harness the glory of God by Faith, Prayers and His Word. You are a child of light; darkness must depart from you in Jesus name
